Monique Johnson is a native of Charlotte, NC. After graduating college from Elizabeth City State University with a degree in Music and then going on to obtain her MBA from Strayer University, Monique began her career in human resources in the corporate sector. It was during the early years of her human resources career that she learned event planning would be a major part of her job. The Human Resources department at many corporations is often tasked with the coordinating/planning of any events/charity/community initiatives that office-wide employees may participate in. Monique became that go-to person within the HR department for her former employer. During her time in the corporate world Monique successfully planned and coordinated many events full-cycle to include corporate holiday parties, corporate off-site meetings, corporate charity fundraising initiatives, corporate community partnership initiatives etc..
While continuing to work her normal 9-5 Monique soon began to realize how much she enjoyed the event planning process along with being able to bring the creative side of herself to work and she recognized the joy that she constantly felt once an event she planned/coordinated was successful and ultimately created memorable moments for those who attended. With that feeling in mind in July of 2015 Monique decided to step out on faith to open her own event planning/decor design business which is now Embassy Events.
Monique has planned events in North Carolina primarily with coordination from vendors located all across the United States. Monique has plans to continue to grow her brand and business by continuing to align her passion with her focus which is making others happy and feel celebrated through memorable, classy, sophisticated, professional and most of all FUN events.
